This month Jerusalem U, producer of film-based educational materials and feature documentaries about Israel, is launching the Jerusalem U Media Lab—an innovative online resource for Israel educators.

This online database gives educators access to all of Jerusalem U’s video classes and supplementary classroom materials. Streaming links to the video classes and PDF downloads of classroom materials will be available free of charge, while digital downloads of feature films and video classes will be available at a low cost. Educators will be able to browse content through subject- and age-specific curated playlists, most popular classes, and more.

“We understand that teaching the always-changing, complex topic of Israel is challenging–and possibly even scary—but we don’t believe it should be,” says Dina Rabhan, President of Jerusalem U. “We are a team of educators finding joy in creating ways to engage students in meaningful discussions and out-of-the-box learning through digital media. The Media Lab is the new destination for all of this learning.”

In today’s dynamic world, the Jerusalem U team seeks the most effective ways to reach their students. “Films bring Israel to life,” explains Lior Krinsky, VP of Israel Education Content and US Operations for Jerusalem U. “Our video classes and feature documentaries harness the power of authentic storytelling, multiple narratives, and a wide range of topics—all while meeting students where they are.”

In addition to classroom resources, the Media Lab will also feature professional development content created by the Jerusalem U educational team. All team members will share their experiences, best practices, challenges, and more through the new Teacher to Teacher blog and vlogs, as well as their gap year educator’s long-running podcast, The Teacher’s Lounge.
