OpenDor Media is a nonprofit media organization that produces and globally distributes educational videos and award-winning feature-length documentary films on the subjects of Judaism, the Jewish people and Israel.
Our primary goal is to produce Jewish film and video programming that informs the worldview of our audience. We know that media plays a primary role in our lives; it helps us make sense of the world around us and impacts our knowledge, attitudes and behaviors. By sharing our content on digital channels, we can bring Jewish ideas values and stories to anyone who is interested in learning more. We believe that a person does not have to be privileged to access Jewish education.
OpenDor Media expresses our mission to throw open the doors of Jewish ideas, Jewish values and the Jewish story to a global audience. New digital platforms and channels have gifted us with an unprecedented ability to reach every young person on the planet – a reality we could only dream of in the past. The word Dor also means “generation” in Hebrew (דור), underscoring our belief that education is a generational phenomenon, passed on through engaging historical narrative from parent to child, and from teacher to student. For the first time in history, we are able to do this on a global scale at the speed of the internet.
Because, as a global media company staffed by award-winning filmmakers and professional educators, we are uniquely positioned to reach, educate and engage the global audience of young Jews and bring them closer to their history and heritage.
