New Educational Series on Jewish Teachings That Shape the Human Condition

OpenDor Media is excited to announce the launch of a new educational content package, The Power of, which tackles the relevance of Judaism and its values in today’s world.

Based on the teachings of the late Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, former Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, and one of the foremost philosophers of our time, this multi-platform series is helping young Jews understand their roots, and be inspired to work toward creating a better world and better versions of themselves.

The Power of series recognizes and acknowledges the intellectual and emotional legitimacy of the questions young people ask about how Judaism is relevant in their lives. The experiential videos and teaching tools invite young people to experience what Judaism has to say about a wide range of topics: from love and advocating for racial equality, to forgiveness, relationships, community, happiness and dialogue. The content is presented in a way that will evoke emotion, inspire reflection and encourage honest inquiry.

“What an extraordinarily curated project! Aside from the relevance of the material, the organization and professionalism with which it is structured makes the material accessible and meaningful. Clearly, a learning taxonomy is at play here, since the skill with which this was developed points to a deep and personal understanding of pedagogy and learning theory. An altogether impressive approach to timely topics, relevant concerns and useful information in a format that is both user-friendly and sophisticated at the same time. Quite an accomplishment – but more important, quite a resource and a welcome contribution to the “Jewish studies matters and speaks to us” movement.”

Dr. Zipora Schorr, Director of Education/HS Judaics, Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School, Baltimore

The series consists of 10 trigger videos with educational resources, and a full educational curriculum available on the Jewish Unpacked website, and on the Jewish Unpacked website where the podcasts and videos are hosted.
