Israel at War: Complexity and Context

As we mourn our losses, and as the battle still rages to defend our right to live as Jews in our homeland, we are no less aware of the battle for truth in the hearts and minds of students everywhere.

After the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and the subsequent launch of Operation Swords of Iron, OpenDor Media’s Unpacked for Educators division immediately sprung into action in a major effort to collate and curate content about the war, and make it accessible to schools and campuses across the globe — in the classroom, on the quad and also on every social media platform where today’s generation seeks answers. Demand for our content has never been greater. The Unpacked for Educators team is traveling and speaking non-stop, including engagements at the Weber school in Atlanta, with Jewish students at NYU and virtual calls to a long list of institutions.

“With resources covering history, contemporary topics and current events, we go beyond the soundbites,” says Noam Weissman, OpenDor Media’s executive vice president. “War is always complicated. We must bring context and nuance in ways that students can digest. That battle is no less important.”

This selection of videos, podcasts and articles for educators makes content easily accessible for school, campus organizers and youth groups. In all, there are over 300 videos, articles and podcasts covering the hardest, most complex topics that are at the root of understanding this war – what led up to it and what it means for the future of Israel and the Jewish world.
