The exclusive advance pre-screenings of Exodus 91: The Untold Story of Operation Solomon were a resounding success.
Two gala benefits to support the completion and release of OpenDor Media’s newest feature film, Exodus 91: The Untold Story of Operation Solomon. Exodus 91 retells the story of the daring and controversial mission to aid Ethiopian Jewish refugees in the midst of civil war in 1991.
OpenDor Media CEO Andrew Savage opened the Lincoln Center event in New York. In his remarks, he highlighted how OpenDor Media’s proactive efforts are proving to be extremely effective in Israel and Jewish education.
“In May 2021, when hundreds of thousands of young Jews and their non-Jewish peers did a Google search to learn more about Hamas it was our Unpacked YouTube video – one we had produced a year earlier – that showed up at the top of their search,” noted Savage. “People cannot take pride in or defend that which they don’t understand. And so we work to ensure that young people have a strong enough education of what Zionism is and what it means to be a Jew so that when they and their beliefs are challenged, they are able to stand tall.”
The true transformative power of film was felt as soon as the lights dimmed. The excitement and enthusiasm continued through the lively Q&A, with director Micah Smith and lead actor Shai Ferdo. In New York they were joined by Jewish Agency for Israel’s Regional Director Sigal Kanotopsky.
