UNPACKED, a division of OpenDor Media, has created a YouTube series titled Jewish Trailblazers, which seeks to uplift and educate the next generation of Jewish leaders to take pride in their identity. This series presents captivating stories of famous Jewish men and women from the 20th and 21st centuries who were renowned in the fields of politics, science, entertainment, sports, and beyond.
The first episode debuts today and features the story of Ida Nudel’s fight for Jewish freedom. Other figures featured in the series include Sandy Koufax and Joe Lieberman, amongst others Additionally, our Unpacked for Educators division is developing educational resources to accompany the content which includes dedicated webinars and teacher training sessions for individual schools and communities.
With antisemitism becoming more virulent and young Jews report feeling more disconnected from their heritage than previous generations, finding Jewish heroes whose resilience they can model themselves on is more important than ever. Jewish Trailblazers aims to inspire young audiences by fostering a desire to learn more deeply about their roots and proudly connect with modern Jewish history. In celebrating these role models, the goal is for young Jews to see that there is strength to be found in staying true to one’s values against all odds.
